Travel
As Henry Miller wrote, “One’s destination is never a place but rather a new way of looking at things.” Travel excites me visually and compels me to shoot away at ever-unfolding scenes of novelty, mystery, and enchantment. But it’s not all pudding and palm trees out there. One must rise to the mindset of a pilgrim and accept Thomas Jefferson’s dictum: “Travel makes a person wiser if less happy.” For me the term wanderlust is apt. I move about slowly, and with rapt hunger record the phantasmagoria of lives and places not my own.
