Loose Ends
Photos taken from the hip can have a certain piquancy. The camera allows us to stop time and slice up life in ways that can penetrate as well as dissect. The ordinary can appear special. Wittgenstein said what can be shown cannot be said. Or, as the camera records it may also perplex. Offbeat subjects aren’t a product of masterly seeing, but can there be an opposite effect?
