Architecture
Our built environment is the main way we modulate space. A practical need for shelter and privacy runs up against inventory of materials, ambition for scale, and aesthetic notions. While constrained by cost, code, or urgency, buildings can still be ingenious and eloquent. Or, they may distract or disappoint. They may go unnoticed or assault our sensibilities.
